About Kovalam
Kovalam is a village situated on the coast of the Arabian Sea and it is a popular tourist destination of Kerala. The village holds a huge number of coconut trees, and for this reason Kovalam is known as “grove of coconut tree”. Kovalam is also an internationally renowned beach. There are many things to do in this beach at leisure time. Swimming, Sunbath, Ayurveda body toning massage, some cultural ceremonies etc. are of them. 13 km away from Thiruvananthapuram, the capital of Kerala, this village is very calm and out of hassle. It is a shopping destination with rich spices, wooden figurines and handicrafts that can make travelers happy.
Things To Do
It is one of the most beautiful beaches in India with a variety of water sports activities like backwater cruise, parasailing, windsurfing, snorkeling etc. The lighthouse beach on the south side makes a view which is indescribable in word, one just keep staring at this. The light house is standing at Kurumkal hills, and helps ships, fishing boats not to lose their way. The Hawah beach is famous for its sunset views and reputed as the second largest beach.
Best Time To Visit
This beautiful village of Kerala can be visited at any time of the year. But, the good time will be between September and March, after the rainy season and before the start of summer.
