About Lolegaon
Lolegaon is a village in the new formed up district in West Bengal, named Kalimpong. It was within Darjeeling district and later was detached. It is situated at the very end of Himalayan series. Lolegaon is a natural place with beautiful green forests and calm and quiet valleys. Lolegaon is locally known as Kaffer.
Kalimpong
Kalimpong is the nearest town. It 55 km from Lolegaon. It has an observation point called the Jhandi Dara to view the snow peaks of the Singalila Range. Some say, it provides better view of the sun than Tiger Hill does.
Sightseeing in Lolegaon
The Canopy Walk is located about one kilometre from the bus stand in Lolegaon The main attraction of Lolegaon is the Hanging Bridge which is simultaneously fascinating and awful. The bridge costs rupees 25 tickets to walk. Check out the VIP bungalow view point. This is a beautified lawn underneath the VIP bungalow. You can get a great view of Kanchanjangha snow tops from here. If you plan to stay in Lolegaon, trek to this viewpoint to see the sunrise.
Neora Valley National Park
Neora Valley National Park extends to a height of 3,200 meters to the north. The highest point of this park is Rachela Pass, which forms the boundary of Bhutan to the north and east with North Sikkim.
